Olympics - Blood, sweat and tears

This week has been a funny old one. The children are off school so I have not been getting my daily dose of Homes under the Hammer, Cash in the Attic and Doctors, however I have been watching a lot of the Olympics coverage both when they are in and when they go out.

Today was very exciting as I was left on my own while everyone else went to the beach. I could not contain my excitement when Katherine Grainger won gold at last and I managed to hit my wagging tail so hard on something I split the end of it. Throughout the rest of the days medal winning I managed to wag quite a bit of blood around the house without even knowing it. It is all cleared up now and I have even had a nail trim at the vets. I have just got to be a bit careful with my tail over the next few days

I hope Jessica Ennis can get the right results tomorrow to bring home another gold medal for Team GB as she is my favourite.

In other news, Imogen managed to break her wrist on the first day of the holidays so she has her arm in plaster, we are picking beans and cutting courgettes faster than we can eat them, and the grass keeps growing too quickly!

Hope all my followers have a good weekend. I am off to sleep now and to rest that tail.

Blue sky and runner beans.

Although I am not a lover of hot weather it has been great to see the sun and hear the children playing in the road outside today, I even managed to escape a couple of times myself this weekend. Today I spent some time doing some research on cool spots around my new house and garden as I understand we are in for a run of good weather, my favourite spot so far is right in the front doorway although I am sure people have been looking at me as though I am in the way.
We had our first proper harvest of runner beans this evening and I was lucky enough to get some in my dinner, I love runner beans.
Orders have been continuing to come in this week at www.humphreysgarden.com which is great news and we are already looking closely at a few stock lines that are getting low. Allium bulbs seem to be very fashionable at the moment and this is being reflected in our sales.
If you have purchased from us before please come back for more and even better please tell your friends and family!

Orders coming in suggest a busy season ahead

The last few weeks we have been busy selecting and listing our Spring 2013 range of bulbs on our website www.humphreysgarden.com . If you get a moment take a look and get an order placed as some lines have very limited stock. We have already taken over 80 orders and that was before we started our marketing and advertising campaign so it looks like it is going to be a busy few months ahead. It is great to see some regular customers back some of which have been buying from us every season for the last 8 years.

We spent the weekend getting the unit prepared for the coming season and we are hoping to be more prepared than the beginning of last season where we were taken back by quantity of advance orders. It was amazing how many people came to us for their garden bulbs on the back of recommendations from regular customers and we would be most grateful if you could tell your friends about us. Why not get together with friends, neighbours and family and place an order together to take advantage of our £4.95 shipping cost for orders placed via humphreysgarden.com.

We also supplied bulbs to a number of primary and secondary schools so if any of you have children/grandchildren at school then please tell them about us and we can put together some great packages for schools.

Time for me to get back to listing, googles and twitters, I hear we have some Summer due next week, anyone else heard that rumour?

I wonder if Spike will be round to play this week.

Rain, Fete and New Friend

I cannot believe how fast the grass in the new garden is still growing, Will is having to mow twice a week. The day after my last blog we lost my dear old friend Louis the Guinea Pig, he was a really good friend and I do miss his company around the place. I do however have a new friend, Spike, he is Aunty Bridies puppy, he is a very fast and lively boy, I am trying to get him to understand the way one should behave but I think only half of what I tell him is going in. Hopefully I will be able to spend some more time with him this week.

Will and Phil are beginning to get the bulb website up and rolling for the new season so don't forget to have a browse when you get a moment and grab some early bargains.

Before long the Summer Holidays will be here, I really hope we get some nice weather so I can have the odd quiet day while the kids wear themselves out at the beach.

Goodnight for now.

Humph

Keeping an eye on Spike

Miss you Louis. XXXXX

New home, less teeth, healthy grass

I am sorry it has been so long since my last update and a lot has happened since. For starters I ended up having a number of teeth out after my mouth started bleeding, Since then I have been much happier. We have moved to a new house and the best news is there are no steps! Flush thresholds all round, hooray! The new turf has taken well due to the amount of rain we have had and I am now nearer 13 than 12, I believe that is getting on for 90 in dog years. I hope you are all well and lets hope for some summer sunshine to come our way soon.

Birthdays

Well what a week!  Will had a birthday.  He's doing very well for a human of his age. Still gets out and has no trouble with the steps up from the garden.  He went for a big long walk with some friends on his actual birthday, about 4 hours they were gone for.  Didn't seem very keen on walking in a straight line though. He took a little white ball with him that he would hit and then chase after it. Sometimes the while ball went quite a long way but normally it just skipped through the grass and landed about fifty yards away. It was funny because the friends he was with, they all had little white balls as well but they hit theirs a lot further. I think they didn't enjoy it as much as Will either because he always hit his ball more times than they did.  Sometimes, Will was even allowed to pick his ball up and move it so he could get round a tree, that was because 'it was his birthday' evidently.  Will did have lots of fun though, I think.  He got lots of present from his family and from his friends.  One of his presents was a poster of Justin Bieber. He will be able to put it up next to his Westlife one.

This weekend is looking lovely for bulb planting.  I might even get some Tete a Tete and put them in containers. I like containers.

Right, time for a little snooze before lunch.  Mmmmm lunch.......

Clocks.... Fall Back... Fall? Autumn!

I do struggle, no I do.... Hour forward, hour back, what does it really mean, time is time... Time for bed, time for a walk. Okay, feeding time..... I don't suddenly start being hungry at a different time because the clocks have changed! No actually, forget that example, I'm always hungry. I'm hungry whatever the time is to be honest.  Maybe we should change the clocks so it's always Dinner Time!

Hold on.... something is drifting towards my nostrils.... Not Dinner no..... Biscuits? No.....  Ahhhhh deep joy & bounding happiness....  There look, edging out under the sofa.... Look at the curves on that, look at the way it almost calls out 'eat me'.....  I do love a well gummed, almost putrid chew.....  And this little baby has got my name on it.....

Talk soon.

Oh, yes, got some great new GIFTS in stock at the web thing..... http://www.humphreysgarden.com/
